A note for all Consultant Gynecologists..

So, I had my second appointment with my consultant yesterday.
If I'm honest, I wasn't looking forward to it. My partner and I split-up last week. I'm ok, but it only hit me yesterday. So yes, ontop of the horrid bout of depression, mentioned in my last post, I spent all of yesterday in bed. I got up only to make cups of tea and to have a shower. Other than that, I cried. Today is better though, and I hold my consultant partly responsible for that!
This appointment was in a new place I'd never been before. For once, I managed to get ready in an hour (shower, wash/dry hair, shave my face and put my make-up on) and was still late! The directions on the little map they sent me, were poor.
Anyway, I arrived all sweaty and flustered only to be told by the nurse, NOT the receptionist who gave me a filthy look when I explained why I was running SIX minutes late, that they were about ten minutes behind. To be honest, I didn't mind too much. It meant I had chance to cool down and check my Facebook (addict!).

The nurse returned and showed me to the room. I was greeted by my consultant in the best possible way!
"Wow! You look amazing! Have you lost weight?! On the scales, NOW!". And, she was right, I've lost a stone and a half. I've not felt so good about myself in, well, a very longtime!
(So yes, if you want to keep your patients happy, be super lovely to them!!)

She prescribed me another six months of Dianette, which is fine. I've not put on any weight from it, as you know, and I like the idea of being on the Pill more so now I'm single.
She also prescribed Vaniqa. Honestly, I'm quite excited to try it. Do any of you have any opinions on it?

While I think of it, would anyone be interested in a regular webchat? So you can vent/ask me questions etc..

  1. Ooh, let me know how the Vaniqua works! I have been told about it, but the doctor said it won't work for my skin type.. and by the way, amazing job on the weight loss!!! Keep it up girl!!!

  3. I wish they'd put me back on the Dianette, I really do. I was on it before I had my daughter and now they just tell me I'm too overweight and my BMI is too high.

They prescribed me Vaniqa but because at that time I was using a silky mit to defuzz my chin it just irritated the skin and there was never an appropriate time to put it on (and frankly I was in a bad mood they didn't let me have electrolysis!)

You have inspired me in the last week though, I need to go back to my doctors and get on top of my condition, I'm stuck still and we want to try for another baby next summer so I need to sort it out.
